Backyard Garden
(to the tune of "Bahay Kubo" - a well-known Filipino song)

Our backyard lot, a little one
Many crops are planted to be a healthy man

Turnip and eggplant
Winged beans and peanuts
Legumes, and other beans

Pumpkin and gourd, and many more
Radish and mustard, winter melon and squash

Onion, tomato, garlic, and ginger
Mother Nature truly cares!

(An adaptation)

The Canteen

The Canteen

A place of every student’s dream
Where you can see kids all beam
As they are about to take in
Their favorite cuisine.

Sighting now for their favorite snack
Making sure that nutrients are full-packed
As health is of greatest significance
For studying to have no hindrance.

Boys’ activeness can be ascertained
Silence diminishes and few are contained
Girls are busy chatting and partaking
On topics which for them are very entertaining.

Canteen is a place where you can treasure
Many different sorts of pleasure
Lucky if you are able to acquire

The canteen that you will admire.

(first time to create a poem of this length. I was used to creating haiku. hehe)
